« La petiote » est le voyage initiatique d’une enfant appelée « la petiote » qui décide de quitter sa famille pour continuer son chemin tout seul.

La petiote vit avec ses parents et ce qui l’agace beaucoup, ce qui la met très en colère, c’est qu’ils lui disent « non, non, non, non, NON ! ». Elle a beau dire : « Laissez-moi tranquille ! », rien n’y fait. Ses parents la commandent !

Alors, un soir, la petiote accompagnée de son doudou décide de partir de chez elle. Elle attend que ses parents se couchent quand soudain la porte de son placard s’ouvre. Au fond, il y a un passage qui amène à un tunnel et bientôt la petiote se retrouve seule dans la forêt.

Les enfants spectateurs vont partir en même temps que la petiote et son doudou à l’aventure.

Le voyage de la petiote est raconté par le doudou. Le temps du voyage est le temps de la découverte, celui de la solitude, de l’abandon, mais aussi pour la petiote, le temps de l’absence de ses parents, un moment pour réfléchir à la place de sa famille, ce qu’elle lui apporte, les bons moments comme les mauvais. Va-t-elle continuer son chemin de vie avec ses parents ou rester dans la forêt des enfants perdus ?…

Lors de son voyage, elle découvre un magasin de familles qui lui propose de changer de famille. Changer de famille, laisser sa mère, son père et son doudou?

Que va choisir la petiote ? Qu’est ce qui est important pour elle, dans sa famille ?
